Hello blog. Again I will try to put down a few words to etch my week in cyberspace. I’m not sure where the week went. Monday afternoon campus was closed at 3, canning my math class and evening meeting with the Habitat gang.

Tuesday I woke up at 7, stumbled over to my email, saw that classes were canceled, and went back to sleep. Then I got up for good and Paul and I decided to go to Snowbowl and ride powder the rest of the day since neither of us had anything to do but stare at snow anyway. This was pretty much Paul’s first time on a snowboard, and for a Hawaii native I thought he did quite well. I think of Hawaiians more often in context of surfboards than snowboards. I did a few runs with Paul and then ventured over to the big lifts to ski the steeps. It was a perfect day for me to try new territory with deep powder that kept me slowed down and made falling down less painful. On the mountain it was cold, the trees were loaded with snow, and the skies were deep blue and cloudless like they almost always are in sunshine country. Beautiful. Not sure why we didn’t have school…

The rest of the week went somewhere, I don’t know where. Friday was volunteer day; I worked at the ReStore for a few hours stocking furnace parts and arranging stuff in the store, then went to the Skydome where I sold hotdogs and Dippin’ Dots at two basketball games in a row. I finally got home at 11, tired and sore from standing on concrete for eight hours. Today I worked on papers and Chinese writing until 10pm; I still have a Wikipedia article on mining to finish, a 12 page analysis to write on a topic I know very little about—myself—for communication class, and a report about blogs to write. Those will have to wait until I have fresh inspiration, hopefully tomorrow night…
