I’m still searching for balance in what’s available on the Internet under my name, and I realize that my actions only have a limited amount of influence. Recruiters—and clients—are always searching for information and of course I want them to find information that is accurate and positive. On the other hand, I don’t want to be low hanging fruit for identity fraudsters. My hope is that a personal web page will be one of the highest ranking search results and provide a quick overview including social media profiles, skills, and interests. The diagram below comes to mind whenever I hear people complaining about privacy on the Internet. There is no privacy on the Internet.
